My Graduation Outfit

 It goes without saying last year was an almighty juggle.

There was my final year of university with a dash of trying to earn good money, and a sprinkle of maintaining all meaningful relationships and of course writing here on AOG.

Metaphorically keeping all balls in the air and trying to divide my time into giving all of them much needed attention was very trying at times.

At the lowest deepest darkest moments of my third year study at university I questioned whether I was worthy of graduation. In the depths of stress it seemed like a distant ideal....I lost sleep in worry at times.

 I really did put the work in, granted I had to give the occasional "no".

But it was all worth it.

On Friday I shall receive my Bsc Applied Computing 2:1 degree.

Now you regular readers of mine will know well I am a big fan of a lust list.

For once this is what I shall be ACTUALLY wearing....I know different huh?

I did research graduate outfits and generally their not overly written about so I thought I would show you guys what I'm planning on wearing.

I must point out my robes are gold and red hence the bold dress colour choice.

I wanted to be sophisticated and comfy at the same time so chose this pencil dress originally from ASOS- unfortunately it is sold out online so I purchased mine from Ebay....thank the lord for Ebay phewww. Its understated and simple perfect for graduation because lets face it my dear parents will probably have my graduation photo proudly displayed in the house for as long as I live.

Those of you that follow me on Instagram (AspirationsOfGlam) will see I ordered the shoes only last week. I decided about a year ago I wanted some Louboutin shoes and have saved ever since. I cannot wait for them to arrive....it should be tomorrow. I think they will look spectacular with my dress.

Again with jewellery Ive kept the look very simple, my faithful Michael Kors watch which I have had since my 22nd birthday and a very simple thin choker.

OOTD: I Told You It Was Transitional.

Hello All.

Its been a very mixed day hasn't it? Showers one moment sunshine the next.

Today I nipped to what I call the' cheapy shop's and explored a treasure trove of goodies. I was only after a basket but I was enticed by some other bargains while I was there. I then nipped to Starbucks with a friend of mine and we sat and chugged our 5 litres of Cappuccino and hot choc whilst nattering the afternoon away....please don't be persuaded into thinking this is my usual Wednesday afternoon, I assure you this is my week of freedom before turning that metaphorical page of in a new chapter in my working life (aka 'Big Girl Job').....eek!

The reasoning behind this title is I have worn this skirt in my last OOTD. It was the end of August and I was proclaiming how transitional the skirt was. Well here is the proof.  The ensemble is what I can only describe as Keep It Simple Stupid. My leather jacket and leggings keep me snug and warm whilst my scarf and skirt keep the outfit girly. Its also wonderfully comfortable.
 

You may have noticed I am completely embracing the vamp berry lip Autumn trend courtesy of Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in 260 Amethyst Shimmer with a light glossing from Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in 108 No Regrets. My nails consist of a leopard print stickers from Primark. Now I applied these last night with very little hope they would last so long. I must admit I have really been enjoying them on my nails and at £1 I will bear them in mind for future nights out- theirs a great choice of designs and their fool proof to apply....bliss.

The scarf I'm wearing has much sentimental value as its from Ibiza. Anyone ever heard of Zoo Project? In essence its a party at an abandoned Zoo where all involved dress as animals. Much fun is to be had I promise.

Transitional Pieces: How To: Crop Top

Hey everyone!

So Again I'm coming over all practical. I really don't know what has come over me!

I dont know about you guys but I have over indulged on the crop top trend. I now have all of these super-pretty-but-only-worn-once crop tops in my wardrobe and not a clue when they'll get another outing again. Familiar?

You may remember in January I proclaimed in my year of fashion versatility.  

(I look so different in that post)

Well this is very fitting.

What Im wearing:

What I've done with this outfit is layer it up a little with a denim shirt over the top.

I was off for Sunday lunch this day so I did my shirt up and rid of my cheeky flesh flash at the bottom.

May I also add that I am loving my Ebay disco pants. So comfy. For all you 10/12s or above I assure you you CAN get out of them and their not nearly as scary on.  

(I had a real life fear of major flesh overhang)

Getting them from ebay was a tactical choice to test if I wanted the real things and so far I'm impressed.

I really urge you ladies to have a pop at light summer layering. I just think this bralette has such a pretty print its a shame to not utilise it.

Camera focus was a little lacking in image 2 I so apologise for that. I also have totally given up on the British tan conept and gone back to my beloved St Tropez. I give up I really do.

The RI SALE Playsuit

Hey there chikas!

I don't know about you but I am loving the weather at the moment.

I am permanently in flip flops and relishing every ray like its the last...you just cant tell with Britain's crazy weather system!

Today I'm wearing a playsuit I picked up on the ASOS sale.

I dont know about you but at River Island stores I just dont seem to ever find anything particularly fruitful when it comes to their sales.

Having it online seems to cut out the middle man and I got some great bargains especially with sale prices and a further 10% off at the till which was on offer at the time....*score*.

Apart from its usual potential transitional piece gorgeousness I love how quaint and structured this is.

The shorts are beautiful and I love the floral pattern which also boarders paisley

I love that their high waisted.
The shirt is an off white almost crochet effect in a  floraly patterns.

Its just one of those outfits you can throw on and look like you've made a big effort..even though you haven't!

The playsuit features gorgeous gold button detail.

I do apologise for my blatantly half arsed hair but my god it was humid when I took these pics!

Looking at these pictures I seem quite tanned. I have been working outside all week. But the room was a little dark while I took these and thankfully it may have gone in my favour! mwhaha.

The orange Topshop Button Skirt

Hey guys.

So todays weather is a little in betweeny- meaning the rains holding and the air is warm but the sun is half-heatedly shining.

I'm wearing a little purchase I got from Topshop

and again it a perfect example of a transitional piece.

This high waisted skirt can be dressed up of down and worn throughout the seasons.

I could easily wear this with a big jumper and tights in the winter.

I adore the pockets and button detail.

Unfortunately I think I may have purchased a size too big so may need to swap, but its nothing that cant be rectified with a skinny belt.

The material of this skirt is viscose which I imagine is going to be a real pain to wash, it crinkles really easily. Regardless I love it.

I went out for lunch with my dad today so teamed my outfit with a leather jacket.

My bandeau top is an oldie but a goodie I picked up on the ASOS sale a while ago. Every so often I rediscover it.

OOTD Cool clothes for Hot Saturday Shopping

Hey guys!

Ive had a wonderful afternoon...its been my first Saturday off in weeks, and what weather for it.

I spent the day shopping in Liverpool with my friend Jens.

Oh my.

I spent lots of money in Primark. Picked up some makeup from Topshop and a bikini from Miss Selfridge.

I am mega ready for holiday now!

I kept my hair up more to stop myself from over heating whilst parading myself around the busy shops.

We had a lovely 3 course lunch in Pizza Express. I was so nice to eat alfresco with our sunglasses on....and of course natter away the afternoon.

I will do a Primark haul as I know its nice to get an insight as to whats available in store.

OOTD Suns out- Legs out-Primark

Today is one of those ohhh my shizz I have so much to do days.

The purchasing of this dress is down to several weaknesses, 

one being DollyBowBow's Primark Haul and another LLYMRS' beautiful skirt.

Sitting and knowing these beautiful bits were in Primark resulted in a trip

-and with the weather this week I felt I owed it to myself to pick up some key pieces in order to be ready for spring.

I love this dress.

This is another of those transitional pieces, some wedges a bit of eyeliner and hell even a bandanna could retro up this dress to a whole other level and get you in gear for the evening.

Its denim-looking but it actually a lightweight cotton.

I love that its sleeveless and the button detailing. I'm not overly crazy about the belt but it'll do till I get round to picking up something I prefer.

The length of the dress is just above the knee, I am however 5"9 so it could come up a lot longer on you shorter ladies. The skirt pleats out a little making it super feminine.

My hair is just kinda 'meh' today but I do like how a plait can make you come over all girly.

I have my beloved Rimmel Nail Varnish (Sky High) I am a little obsessed with this greeny colour at the moment.

Oh and the good bit this dress is £10 from Primark

and I literally picked it up Wednesday so get yourself down there.

I'm still considering doing a haul on the other bits I got, anyone like to see?

I am buzzing today! I have Spotify on none stop playing Christmas tunes and others...I'm out tonight in THE gold sequin dress. Excited to wear it!

Whats been done?

Ive had a new 22" weave so Ive got length and volume back.

Highlights and cut now I'm a caramel all over. My hairdresser described it as "Beyonce caramel"- I quite like the idea of that. Closer to Beyonce...closer to godliness! haha.

I notice a lot of searches made that end up on my blog are Googling "weave"

I love wearing dresses in daytime, Ive worn it with tights and boots today. I also love a cut off shirt. That trend seems to have followed us from the summer.

The dress is sheer and comes with a slip (which I'm wearing)

However if I'm feeling a little cheeky I can wear a skirt underneath the dress and flash a bit of bra....witwoo.

I like the collar and the different colours on the buttons...its cute!

Packages and Knits OOTD

Hello there!

Yesterday I had a beautiful little package through the post

I was very happy to find it was a beautiful necklace I ordered a few weeks ago from Etsy.

The link for it is featured in this post

It is so dainty and ornate. Its not got that LOOK AT ME statement authority,

instead the little disk creates a glimmer that occasionally catches you eye. It really is lovely.

Today I have a HUGE jumper on...I mean I'm a size 10 and its size 18

Basically Ive been after a nice large cream jumper for a while.

I find jumper dresses too frumpy and usually a little on the short side this is because I'm 5"8.

My thinking behind purchasing such a big jumper is so that when I have those I cant be bothered days I can throw this on!

 ...and that's exactly what Ive done. Ive added a little black belt to give the look more structure. This way I don't entirely look like Ive got the bin bag look going on.

Last Saturday- The Races OOTD/TN

Hello to all my lovely new followers :)

Just a little post - I have been worse for wear today!

So...Saturday I headed to Chester races.

Surprisingly it was sunny and warm all day and a group of us went to celebrate my friend's 22nd.

I love the races because its an excuse to get dressed up!

I didn't get time to take any decent photos so I'm gonna have to improvise a little.

I wore dress from French Connection called Penelope dress

Its just so feminine and romantic it suited the occasion.

I love the shapes the structuring creates at the bottom and it really helps flare the skirt out.

On top of that I am an absolute sucker for embellishment!

When I initially saw this dress it certainly had the WOW factor! :)

Here's me and my guy pre-races.

While we were there a photographer asked me and one of my girlfriends to have our picture taken for Cheshire West Magazine...we will keep an eye out for that!

Not So Glam OOTD

So on previous mentioning of expanding ones horizons I went camping this weekend. Just for the night with the boyfriend. I loved it! Mind we were super snug on blow up mattresses and were sufficiently kitted out with stove etc etc! We went to Porthmaddog and missed all the rain at home and got this instead:  :)

So here is what I wore today whilst playing a game of crazy golf (I lost btw....bit of a sore point!)
