A Guide To Glam Summer Bronzer

Its that time of year to lay down the red matt blush and really indulge in some Bronzer.
I love the effect of a contoured cheek and the luminosity of a shimmer sheen.

With my skin more tanned than usual I am loving rediscovering the different looks/finishes my bronzer can achieve.

Here are a select few I wish to discuss from high street to high end. I really think there is something for everyone.

GLAM

For evening MACs MSF in Gold Deposit is a sure bet.
Gold deposit is a familiar and frequent product on the blogger scene. It holds enough shimmer in it to give Goldfinger a heart attack with its muchos gold glitter.
Now this needs to be used sparingly. A light dusting on the cheeks can give you a beautiful gold glow. Too much and you will be presented with oompa loompa cheeks.
Regardless it is a truly beautiful bronzer for evening or special occasion.

p.s all orders over £30 currently free at MAC online.

TRANSITIONAL BRONZE

Another shimmer-licous bronzer and leaning towards a more bronze-coloured shimmer this bronzer is like Gold Deposit's quieter and better behaved sibling.
A much more buildable colour, I have worn a light dusting of this for an added injection of glow in the daytime.
Equally this can be built up for a much more fierce and defined look.
Call me fickle but I love the affordability of this product and the deceivingly luxurious look to the packaging. This is nice and sturdy and perfect for travel.

DAYTIME BRONZE
£23.50

Benefit Hoola is a great bronzing and contouring shade. A Matt it is much easier to master as theres none of that glitter drop out you may experience with the likes if gold deposit. It is much easier to blend. Again in the bloggersphere there is much love for Hoola from fair to very dark skinned ladies. I don't own a full size I have my Hoola as part of Powder Wowza. I'm still enjoying its mini existence.

DAYTIME DUPE BRONZE
£3.75

Now this poor little fella by all accounts is looking very unwell. You've guessed it this is my daily contouring powder for everyday use. But at that price can you blame me?!

It has been said millions of times the similarities between Nars Laguna, and Benefits' Hoola and my swatches demonstrate clearly why.
This powder has a little shimmer in it which is very slight but lasts all day and I love the little handy mirror within the compact.

So there you have it whether you be a shimmer, matt or mix bronze girl I hope Ive either brought to your attention new bronzers you may like to try over this summery...
*cough cough* June!

What is your favourite bronzer?

  3. The 17 bronzing rocks looks amazing, and I agree with you it looks like it costs a lot more from the packaging and overall look of the product :)

  4. I love the look of the 17 bronzing rocks, I've been a bit dubious of them because they look a little bit dark and scary in the tub (I'm hideously pale all year round - especially with the summers we (don't) have haha!) but I think I might have to get some now.. they do look really luxurious though like you said! :)
