The RI SALE Playsuit

Hey there chikas!
I don't know about you but I am loving the weather at the moment.
I am permanently in flip flops and relishing every ray like its the last...you just cant tell with Britain's crazy weather system!

Today I'm wearing a playsuit I picked up on the ASOS sale.
I dont know about you but at River Island stores I just dont seem to ever find anything particularly fruitful when it comes to their sales.

Having it online seems to cut out the middle man and I got some great bargains especially with sale prices and a further 10% off at the till which was on offer at the time....*score*.

Apart from its usual potential transitional piece gorgeousness I love how quaint and structured this is.
The shorts are beautiful and I love the floral pattern which also boarders paisley
I love that their high waisted.
The shirt is an off white almost crochet effect in a  floraly patterns.

Its just one of those outfits you can throw on and look like you've made a big effort..even though you haven't!

The playsuit features gorgeous gold button detail.

I do apologise for my blatantly half arsed hair but my god it was humid when I took these pics!
Looking at these pictures I seem quite tanned. I have been working outside all week. But the room was a little dark while I took these and thankfully it may have gone in my favour! mwhaha.

I got this playsuit for £28 reduced from £40 and its still in stock here so hurry!

Do you like wearing this style of playsuit?

Redding up the daytime-OOTD

Hello bloggers!
Just a very short post for today
I had one of those FAIL moments today. Was taking some pics (or planned to) before I left the house and my camera died....oh man.

Here's my only pic of my OOTD:

You know what.
Its only through blogging I have realised I have my hand on my hips ALL THE FRIGIGN TIME
need a new pose. I think this is derived from those night out pics.
**must make arms look slender...must breathe in** I think that's where the standard pose has come from!...I shall in future try to mix it up a little more.

.....Right you want to know about the clothes...onto the clothes!

Cardigan: Recent primark purchase. It is a lovely knit with gold buttons and we all know how I love gold. Think goldfinger but less Swedish...or hairy...hmm maybe goldfinger was a bad example.
Top: River Island. Its a kinda waterfall top but Ive tucked it in.
High waisted shorts: New look. I discovered these babies later in summer, they may well be knocking about some of the stores still.
Necklace: Primark, I featured this is a recent haul here
Watch: Michael Kors
I do have leggings on here but my wonderful picture has chopped my legs off!
Hair: Looking a little wilder than usual. Just tossed and dosed with a little serum.

This look is all about looking like you've made an effort but in actuality you've slapped some clothes on. The red really makes the outfit and I love marrying the gold buttons with gold jewellery. Red is really taking over this season.

Wishing you all a good week, were nearly halfway!

In Other News
Today (or as I write less than an hour) is my 2 month blog anniversary.
I have already tweeted about this on @AspirationsOfGl but thank you subscribers or even those of you who just popped on to have a nosey and see what this is all about. I have had some overwhelming support and I am grateful for your feedback and views. I plan to do a giveaway soon to show my appreciation!

My denim shorts have a cheeky secret...a tutorial

Hello ladies!
So for today's OOTD its just very relaxed.
Its that's time of the year where denim shorts are only really acceptable (in the UK anyway)
with tights or leggings for daytime, I'm not sure when this unwritten rule materialises but I'm sure its due to the chill in the September air..brrr.

Whilst trawling the BooHoo website.. some lovely stuff on there!
I have stumbled upon this look
(ref: BooHoo)
What a cute  yet edgy little look. I think its brilliant for A/W.
Weirdly enough I have a on a similar ensemble on myself!
These are my favourite shorts.
Before travelling Thailand for 5 weeks the end of last May I was a little strapped for cash.
So rather than buy some new denim shorts I created my own from some old jeans....I wore them none stop!!

I'm sure all of you bloggers have old jeans lying about. Being 5"8 I find that jeans shrink and become too short for me. This usually means lots of jeans to only wear with boots....ridiculous really.

These shorts were a pair of former boot cut River Island jeans that I wore all the time in sixth form (this was nearly 5 years ago) I was never really going to properly wear them again so it was time to revive them.
Advantages of former jeans shorts:
They've been nicely worn in- so are super comfy. I find brand new shorts really T-I-G-H-T!
...this ultimately leads to a hot bum. Not good during the brief British summer weather.
Completely customisable- without leggings I have cut them so the pockets hang out- I really like this look.
The more you wash them the more rugged they look
How To
1. Put your old jeans on. Have a look for what sort of length you want and make a little mark with a pen.
2. Cut roughly along your marking. Remember its easier to take more off so be cautious don't go crazy with the scissors!
3. Try them on. Check the front and back, mark if you want anymore off. Think about what sort of look you are trying to achieve.
4. Repeat 1,2 and if necessary.
5. Depending on what sort of look you want you can rub your scissor blade along your new shorts. This will rough them up again...or a cheese grater will do..no seriously.
6. Pull the bottom threads to add to the distressed look.
7. Put them in the wash- this will loosen the bottom of the shorts and distress them further.

Voila! You now have your on pair of cheeky shorts! :)
 What I'm wearing:
Top: Topshop
Shorts: River Island
Leggings: Primark
If anyone has a go at this Id love to see the results!

In Other News:
I purchased some leopard print leggings from ebay and they've arrived :) Looking forward to experimenting with those little babies for daytime/evening looks!
I have been hitting it hard on the exercise front..and am extremely achy as a result
Pay day tomorrow followed by my birthday. Should be a fab weekend!

Hope you are all well and enjoying your week.

V festival was incredible! Camping was actually much more enjoyable than anticipated, and staying Glam remained a challenge but I think I managed to wing it! Autumn Pretties

I know we are still in August. I am fully aware of that as I'm off to V FEST ON FRIDAY! :)
....packing however is not going well as deciding on what to wear, will I look good VS will I be warm seems to be a consistent argument.
However I cant help but compile a list of things I require to survive the Autumn/Winter. When I buy I want it to last several Winters OK! Its amused me because putting this together its dawned on me I am going to be a similar shade if I were to purchase them all. Compiling this requires glancing at the "saved for later" list on ASOS. Autumn also means Birthday in September so that on the whole makes it more bearable! Right....stop babbling...Here's my list:
Boots: River Island
Uggs: ASOS
Quilted jacket: Ebay!- Its an equestrian jacket. Much cheaper than purchasing from a clothing store but exact style/use.
Fiorelli Bag: ASOS- in Sale. Must buy Must Buy!!
Sparkly Shoes: Schuh. They are so beautiful. I'm thinking Christmas etc etc!
Michael Kors Watch: ASOS
Duffle Coat: Miss Selfridge

All very practical for once
What have you got your eye one at the moment?

I shall be back soon with V fest pictures! :)

Not So Glam OOTD

So on previous mentioning of expanding ones horizons I went camping this weekend. Just for the night with the boyfriend. I loved it! Mind we were super snug on blow up mattresses and were sufficiently kitted out with stove etc etc! We went to Porthmaddog and missed all the rain at home and got this instead:  :)
So here is what I wore today whilst playing a game of crazy golf (I lost btw....bit of a sore point!)
Wire headband: New Look
Denim jacket/shirt: Primark (last season)
Cream top: River Island (ancient!)
Belt: From shorts! -maybe a little too loose.
Shorts: New Look: £19:99
Sandals: Topshop (last summer but have seen knocking about ebay!)
Bag: River Island :£35
Sunglasses: Carrera £89 -cant seem to find the exact ones from ASOS
(I bought mine from there this season)
similar pair though are: Link

Bit of a relief after a mad week!
Hope you have all had a good weekend
