Ive never made any secret of my love for bright and outrageous lipsticks
and this one is certainly not your average "pop to the shop lippie".
This is Barry M- 62 lip paint which I can only describe as a bright barbie pink.
Its deeper pink and less purple than Saint Germain
Lighter than Girl About Town
(Two MAC lipsticks favourites of mine)
May I say this has been names by several Bloggers as a dupe for Candy Yum Yum....one on my lust list.
But just as pigmented and bright as both.
Oh and its high street!...Hurrah!
I had a little play with these images in photoshop and this is nearest I can get in means of colour representation but in the bullet the pop of colour is like a sharp slap in the face....and you don't get many of those in the beauty world!
The packaging feels and looks sturdy and even though its simple it is attractive looking.
The formula is pigmented but very drying- id highly recommend a good scrub of the lips before applying this lippie as unfortunately it will expose any dry bits you may have.
As you can see without any gloss it really does cling to every little detail of my lips, Ive got a little dry patch at the top of my lip and it really highlights that imperfection.
I find the smoothness of a gloss tends to make the lips paint a little more forgiving.
But for a high street brand it really is a brilliant pigmented bright colour and I have found myself accessorising my outfit to my lip colour.....crazy I know.
Barry M have some incredible bright lippies available. At £4.49 I really ought to get more.
To see their full range have a look at the Barry M Website
The next lip paint on my list is 151- Sunset an orangey coral colour.
Do you like Barry M as a brand? Have you tried their lip paints?
I have this and love it :) Barry M lip paints are good value for money xx

I've never tried Barry M lipsticks before as I've heard from quite a few bloggers that they're quite drying- I love so many of the colours though so I may give them a go... this one is gorgeous :)

I really reccommend them as the colour payoff is fantastic, as long as you twin it with a lip gloss you should be fine. I love the colour payoff they are brilliant! :)

I find that all Barry M Lip Paints are this drying, but they're so pigmented and have a stunning array of colours xx
ReplyDeleteYes I totally agree, I think if you can find a way of managing the drying formula then theres no reason why not to rock the colours!

I've heard they're quite drying but I've honestly not tried them myself.. not sure why! Guess I'm not brave enough I guess! I'd slick some vasaline on top if I were to use them I imagine. Great post x
ReplyDeleteTip too everyone saying how drying the colours are, pop a bit of vaseline on first then put the lipstick on. mine never make my lips look dry and it stays put all day x
