2012 Heres To A Year Of Versatility OOTD

To my lovely subscribers and followers Happy New Year!
I have decided to dub 2012 the year of versatility
Rather than tell you I want a big girl job, I aspire to be fitter, to graduate, to catch up with that list of old friends as long as my arm bore bore bore.... this is my fashion resolution
To Be more versatile with my fashion choices
I choose to blog about this because this appeals to women across the board despite their financial status, their level of fashion self awareness, or where they shop.
Whether you like fashion or not at some point you are making fashion choices.

Before I start let me assure you I have made some of those "in style" purchases that were SO now when I bought them only to ever wear them once and consequently sell it on Ebay to someone in the Ukraine for £3.
Bandage dresses you remember those?
Let me refresh your mind..
I actually shiver remembering this!

Its all about shopping and keeping in mind what you want this item for.
If its for an evening can it be dressed down and worn daytime too?
And vice versa.
Is the item seasonal...are you really going to get good wear out of it?

Here is a dress my lovely boyfriend bought be for Christmas.
I know this shape is particularly favourable at the moment but I view it as timeless.
The dress is from Topshop at £45
Purple is my favourite colour.
Ive worn my dress with leopard leggings. I got them from Ebay for £10 and I love to wear them with a top and heels for evenings, and under plain dresses or jumpers for A/W.
Accessories: Michel Kors Watch, Pandora bracelet, heart necklace
I love the dresses structure and how you can wear it with bare legs tights or leggings.
For evening it can be glammed with a statement necklace or earrings.
For daytime and because my super long extensions sometimes overwhelm me with upkeep I wear this dress with a ballerina bun
Up or down this dress is truly transitional.

The key to versatility is
  • Accessorising appropriately for the occasion (jewellery, lipstick, handbag)
  • Investing in pieces that you can revisit again and again
  • Not always going with the flow. Because everyone is wearing it now does it mean they will in a years time? Will you?
Fool Proof versatility:

  • Leather
  • Leopard print
  • LBDs
  • Denim
  • Studs
  • Blazers
  • Classic MAC style coats

I'm not saying I am any sort of versatility Angel, I aspire to be one! I know right now I have outfits and items of clothes that have only ever had one outing and are hanging there in anticipation..literally!

So here's to a fulfilling year one and all, a year of versatility
Best Wishes

OOTD Blazing it up...and a potential miracle hair product.

Hello there!
Today Ive been to university and am off to work shortly...its seriously all go go go this week!
I feel that a blazer can sometimes have the same effect as a red lipstick.... in it has this way of creating a
"Ive made an effort" statement when really all you've done is pop it on.

Introducing my H&M blazer, I picked it up about 2 months ago. Its a really nice neutral olive colour and goes well with pretty much anything.
Major trouble looking at the camera today haha!
No hands on hips though hurrah!!

Blazer: H&M
Same Same Vest: Thailand
Jeggings: ASOS
Watch Micheal Kors
Bracelet: Pandora
Little turtle necklace: Topshop

I think most ladies spend the majority of their time growing their hair right?
Well Ive had a conversation with a guy who had been using this product
You may have seen it advertised as "Germany's no 1 selling men's hair product"
Its designed for men with hair loss and the caffeine supposedly stimulates the hair follicles to prevent hair loss and stimulate growth.
A friend of mine has commented that instead of getting his hair cut monthly its now changed to every 2 weeks.
See where I'm going with this...?
I think I may have to take it upon myself to test this product. OK its for men with hair loss, but if it can get my hair to grow any faster Id be thrilled!

Any ladies had a try of this?

Birthday Haul

Hello bloggers!
As promised I thought Is share a few bits I got for my birthday.
I haven't included everything just a few so you get the general idea!

My lovely boyfriend got me so much stuff! I have been so spoiled.
He got me a new coat which I will no doubt feature sometime so its a lovely earthy brown colour and I'm thrilled with it. We are going away next weekend and visiting Knowsley's Safari park which I am very much looking forward to!
He also got me some more Ralph Lauren perfume- this is MY SCENT! Ive worn it for over 10 years. Its just so fruity and fresh without being too young. All my friends and family know this scent as mine and my boyfriend even refuses to buy me any other as I wouldn't smell like me anymore..bless.
I also received some tickets to go see Katy B- I'm really excited about this as I saw her whole set at V Fest and absolutely loved it. I love seeing artists live.

Some of my girls bought be a Pandora bracelet and a friendship knot charm.
Pandora bracelets are everywhere..I actually think every girl in my friendship circle bar two owns one.
Its weird Ive never really felt the need to buy myself one, I just kinda enjoyed looking at others'.
Now that I actually own one of my own I cant stop wearing it.
I think the reason I never bought one is because the majority of charms (unless you got cash to burn!)
are silver and I am not really a silver wearer.
However as I type I have it lovingly placed on my wrist. I feel very privileged to own one and the friendship knot holds much sentiment.

I asked my parents for some money for my birthday as I had my eye on a Michael Kors watch.
Many a time I have browsed them on the ASOS website...longingly even.
I am now the proud owner of a Michael Kors MK-3518.
The strap is a classic gold link all the way around.
I like it because its sophisticated- a proper "grown-ups watch"
Its design is timeless...haha get the pun...sorry!
My mum bless her got me this book along with a piping set.
Ive failed to mention on here that Ive gone a little cupcake mad of late.
I made 2 batches last week and one has already been produced today.
I have decided I want to be good at piping...so this involves lots of practice.
This is today's (photoshopped) attempt:
I haven't tried one yet. They are lemon flavoured with a little zest sprinkled on the top for good measure.
I will hopefully reach piping-perfection!

I am going to be featured on GlitzyQueen with some of my favourite lipsticks tomorrow so look out!
Big shout out to my new followers, its a brilliant feeling seeing those follower numbers creep up.
As ever thank you for your support! :)
